She said it was Navdeep’s dream of being a part of Indian cricket team and it was fulfilled on Saturday when he got the Indian cap and played his first T-20 International against West Indies at Florida in USA.

Navdeep took three wickets by giving 17 runs in his four overs and also created a record by bowling the last over as a wicket maiden.

Navdeep’s father Amarjeet Saini, a retired driver from Women and Child Welfare Department, said it was a proud moment for them as their son contributed in the victory of the country.

He said Navdeep was in the habit of bowling since his childhood. He was earlier auctioned for Rs 3 crore in the IPL by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Navdeep had dropped his studies in the middle of B.Sc-2nd year and devoted his full time to cricket. He had an impressive performance in the Ranji Trophy.

Saini was also a part of India-A cricket team for a triangular series in South Africa in July-August 2017.

“It was the result of Navdeep’s hard work,” said the father.

Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi, MLA Nilokheri, also reached their residence and congratulated them.
