The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Dr Chander Hass has sentenced seven persons to five-year imprisonment in a cross case of attack over a land dispute registered in Nissing police station on June 19, 2013.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of them. The court has acquitted 11 persons, one person had died during the case and one had been declared proclaimed offender earlier by the court.
The Nissing police had registered a case against 20 persons of both sides (six from one side and 14 from the other) under Section 307 and 323 of the IPC and various Sections of the Arms Act.
The court acquitted all six persons of one side — Balkar Singh, Hari Singh, Anosh Singh, Pargat Singh and Rajinder Singh, residents of Gonder village; Harvinder Singh of Darar village — and five persons of the other side — Onkar Singh, Parvinder Singh of Budhakhera village, Joginder Singh, Sukhram Singh of Gonder village, Bhupinder Singh of Gobindgarh.
Sukhwinder Singh of Gonder died during the case and Chattar Singh of Gonder was declared PO.
Gurdeep Singh of Dachar village; Nishan Singh, Narvair Singh, Sahab Singh, Sukhpal Singh, Gurdeep Singh, residents of Gonder; and Daljeet Singh alias Sher Singh, a resident of Dachar village; were sentenced to five-year imprisonment.
