Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anish Yadav has confirmed this. The funds under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) project of the public sector undertaking (PSU) would be utilised to strengthen the road safety and develop a green belt, he said.

“The state government intends to promote Kurukshetra as an international tourist destination. But for that, it needs an effective traffic management system,” the ADC said.

As such, traffic lights and CCTV cameras installed at light points have been non-functional for the past several months, sources said.

The plan is to construct public conveniences at several places and four bus queue shelters, instal ornamental streetlights and beautify the main entrance to the city in Pipli.
