Industries Minister Vipul Goel, who has been denied ticket from Faridabad, has made light of the matter and said he welcomed the party decision and would stand by it.

“There’s no question of rebellion,” he said. But a group of his supporters staged a dharna at his office here on Tuesday, disappointed that their leader, one of the heavyweights in the BJP, has not been fielded.

The protesters, mainly women, announced to go on an indefinite fast if Goel was not fielded. The minister tried to impress upon his supporters to end the protest, but they did not relent.
