RTI activist not given data on stray animals

PANIPAT: State Information Commissioner (SIC) Jai Singh Bishnoi has summoned Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) of all the districts and state public information officers (SPIOs) of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department, State Police Headquarter, Urban Local Bodies, Panchayat Department and Gau Sewa Commission for not providing information about stray animals to an RTI activist.

State Information Commissioner (SIC) Jai Singh Bishnoi has summoned Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) of all the districts and state public information officers (SPIOs) of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department, State Police Headquarter, Urban Local Bodies, Panchayat Department and Gau Sewa Commission for not providing information about stray animals to an RTI activist.

Besides, the commission has imposed a fine of Rs5,000 each upon DGP, director ULB and director Panchayat and Development Department on September 30.

PP Kapoor, an RTI activist of Samalkha said he sought some information from the Gau Sewa Commission on 11 points about stray animals on October 1 last year. The ADCs, ULB, Police Headquarter, Panchayati Raj Directorate, Gau Sewa Commission and Animal Husbandry department were supposed to provide this information but except Animal Husbandry Department, none responded to it.
