Kurukshetra: To forge partnership with ISRO for conducting research in cutting-edge topics in the area of space applications, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, has signed an MoU with ISRO, Bangalore. On the occasion, Dr Satish Kumar, Director of NIT Kurukshetra, and Dr PV Venkitakrishnana, Director, Capacity Building Programme Office (CBPO), ISRO headquarters, Bangalore, signed the MoU in a well-attended ceremony. Under the MoU, a Regional Academic Centre for Space (RAC-S) will be established in the institute providing research facility to students, scholars and faculty. Through this centre, ISRO will provide financial support to conduct research projects in the advanced areas relevant to space applications. Fellowships will also be offered to scholars for research on long-term projects.
18-member group visits HAU
Hisar: An 18-member group (16 students and two faculty members) from ST Pavlodar State University, Kazakhstan, visited Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University (HAU), Hisar, to attend a short-term international internship programme under the student exchange programme. During this meeting, detailed discussion was held on the functioning of different departments of the university. Prof KP Singh, Vice-Chancellor, HAU, told the visiting group that the university has initiated the process of cooperation with prestigious academic and research institutions within and outside the country to boost academic and research pursuits.
Sadbhawna Yatra reaches Hisar
Hisar: Guru Nanak Sadbhawna Yatra being organised by National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists (NIFAA) and Shiromani Gatka Federation of India reached Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, on Tuesday and planted trees there. The yatra is being organised to commemorate the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev. Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, and Dr Anil Kumar Pundir, Registrar of the University, welcomed the yatra. Pritpal Singh Pannu, Chairman, NIFAA, said that this yatra would cover more than 40,000 miles in India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Guru Nanak also traversed more than 40,000 miles in various countries during his life.
Dyal school student in state team
Karnal: Ashmit Behal of Class IX, Dyal Singh Public School, Dayal Singh Colony, Karnal, has been selected in the Haryana cricket team (under-16). Principal Sushma Devgun said that Ashmit had performed well in a match against Himachal. She congratulated Ashmit’s parents and physical education teachers Pankaj Sharma and Seema Sharma on his success. His father Prabjit Singh said that Ashmit had keen interest in cricket since his childhood. Academic adviser of the school, Ramesh Kumari Singh, also congratulated Ashmit on his achievement.
