The Vidhan Sabha today passed the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Bill 2018, paving the way for setting up of an IILM university in Gurugram.
A total of 21 private universities had already been set up under the Act and after the amendment, an IILM university in Gurugram would be the 22nd.
The Vidhan Sabha passed six more Bills — Haryana Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Adoption Bill 2018, Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas (Amendment) Bill 2018, Motor Vehicles (Haryana Amendment) Bill 2018, Haryana Civil Services (Executive Branch) and Allied Services and Other Services Common/ Combined Examination (Amendment) Bill 2018, Haryana Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Bill 2018 and Haryana Appropriation (No. 1) Bill 2018.
The Haryana Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Adoption Bill would be applicable to all clinical establishments having more than 50 beds for providing quality health care.
The Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas (Amendment) Bill was passed to allow grant of specified category of licences after following the bidding or auction process as an alternative to first-come-first-served policy after following a prescribed procedure in this regard.
The Motor Vehicles (Haryana Amendment) Bill was passed so that state transport undertaking could operate on any route as stage carriage under any permit issued therefore to such undertaking any vehicle placed at the disposal and under the control of such undertaking by the owner of such vehicle under any arrangement entered into between such owner and the undertaking for the use of the said vehicle by the undertaking.
The Haryana Civil Services (Executive Branch) and Allied Services and Other Services Common/ Combined Examination (Amendment) Bill was passed to include the post of Naib Tehsildar in Haryana Civil Services (Executive Branch) and Allied Services and Other Services Common/ Combined Examination Act, 2002.
The Haryana Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Bill was passed to rationalise the rate of interest charged under the Haryana Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 2016, and to reduce the same from 1.5 per cent per month to 1 per cent per month, that is, 12 per cent per annum.
The Haryana Appropriation (No.1) Bill was passed to provide for appropriation out of the consolidated fund of the state of the sums required to meet the supplementary grants made by the Assembly for expenditure for 2017-18.
