Old age, social security pension hiked

CHANDIGARH: The state government has enhanced the monthly allowance, pension and financial assistance under various welfare schemes with effect from November 1, 2017.

The state government has enhanced the monthly allowance, pension and financial assistance under various welfare schemes with effect from November 1, 2017.

An official spokesman said all beneficiaries under old age samman allowance, widows and destitute women, divyang persons pension scheme (disabled pension), laadli social security allowance scheme, dwarf and eunuch scheme would get monthly pension of Rs 1,800 instead of Rs 1,600.

He said all beneficiaries under the financial assistance to destitute children scheme would get monthly financial assistance of Rs 900 instead of Rs 700 and beneficiaries under the financial assistance to non-school going disabled children would get Rs 1,200 instead of Rs 1,000.

In future, the increase of Rs 200 in these welfare schemes would affected from November 1, 2018, he added. — TNS
