One held for sexual assault on Korean

The police have arrested a man from Uttarakhand for allegedly sexually assaulting a 23-year-old Korean woman on Monday night when she was at Galleria Market, DLF Phase IV, with her friend.

An FIR has been registered at Sector 29 police station. The accused, Puran Ram (38), was produced in a city court today and sent to judicial custody. As per the complaint, the Korea resident is working as an executive in a private firm at Sector 48 and currently living in a posh society.

“I was proceeding towards a photo studio on the first floor of the market. An unknown man followed us and groped me from behind. He ran his hand across my spine. I screamed in shock and my friend stopped him and held his hand. People gathered there and handed him over to the police”, the Korean said in her complaint.

The accused has been booked under Section 354 of IPC at Sector 29 police station, said Ved Prakash, SHO, Sector 29 police station.— TNS
