Krishan Deshwal and Jyoti, who were arrested from a Shimla hotel yesterday for murdering Simran, a local SD College student, had planned to murder a youth also. They took one month to execute the plan.
Krishan was produced in court today, which sent him in four-day police custody. Simran’s parents went to the forensic laboratory at Madhuban along with Inspector Sandeep, SHO, Chandni Bagh police station, for a DNA test today.
Rahul Sharma, Superintendent of Police, said the accused wanted to marry each other. “Jyoti and Krishan hatched a conspiracy to murder a girl and a youth and mislead the police into believing that they were dead, so that their parents do not search for them,” he said.
“They had been looking for a youth and a girl for a month. Krishan found Simran, a BA-II student of his college who looked like Jyoti. He also identified a youth who resembled him. But the boy did not reach the Gaushala Temple, where they had planned to execute the murder,” he said.
Krishan was the student in charge of the NSS wing of the college and Simran was a member. The accused called Simran to a Gaushala Temple room and murdered her, said the SP.
After the murder, they went to Zirakpur and stayed there for a night. After purchasing new mobile phones, they went to Shimla.
The police found them in a hotel yesterday.
“Some more youths were involved in the conspiracy. They will be arrested soon,” maintained the SP.
