Pehowa MLA Jaswinder Sandhu passes away after battling cancer

KURUKSHETRA: Pehowa MLA Jaswinder Sandhu passed away at PGI, Chandigarh, on Saturday. Sandhu, a veteran INLD leader was battling cancer for the past few months.

Kurukshetra, January 19

Pehowa MLA Jaswinder Sandhu passed away at PGI, Chandigarh, on Saturday. Sandhu, a veteran INLD leader was battling cancer for the past few months.

INLD state president Ashok Arora has condoled his death.

The 63-year-old Sandhu was elected to Vidhan Sabha four times--1991, 1996, 2000 and 2014 from his home turf in Pehowa segment.

He also remained the agriculture minister. He was the deputy leader of opposition in the current Vidhan Sabha.

His last rites will be performed at his ancestral village Gumthla Gharu near Pehowa on Sunday noon.
