Prepare plan to map noise pollution, says Central board
Panipat, July 14
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has directed the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) to prepare an action plan for mapping noise pollution and a mitigation plan, besides identifying hotspots.
The direction comes on a March 15 order by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), asking the CPCB to categorise cities on the basis of noise pollution and propose a remedial plan within three months. Subsequently, the CPCB identified 46 metropolitan cities across the country for noise mapping.
The central board has asked the HSPCB to submit a report of the action plan and get it executed by November 30. As for the mitigation plan, the deadline is December 31. — TNS
