Priyanka MC Commissioner in Karnal, replaces husband

Dr Priyanka Soni, an IAS officer of 2012 batch, has taken over the charge of KMC Commissioner from her husband Dr Aditya Dahiya, a 2011 batch IAS officer.

Dr Dahiya, who was earlier serving as KMC Commissioner, has been promoted as DC, while Dr Soni was serving as ADC in the district. Karnal made it to the smart cities list during the tenure of Dr Dahiya as KMC Commissioner. Similarly, the Dr Soni played a vital role in making the rural areas of the district open defecation free (ODF).

Both Dr Dahiya and Dr Priyanka Soni studied at AIIMS in New Delhi and SMS Medical College, Jaipur, respectively.
