Hisar, June 8

Call it a strange coincidence or something fishy, 21 candidates who have been declared successful in the screening test for the recruitment of Assistant Professor have roll numbers in pairs while sitting one after the other. Another 36 successful candidates were sitting close to each other with a gap of one candidate.

A group of 10 candidates have submitted a complaint to the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC), urging it to investigate whether there is any manipulation in the examination process.

The complainants said the screening test for Assistant professors of mathematics was conducted by HPSC on May 22. Around 3,000 applicants appeared in the test for the 62 posts. They alleged that the roll numbers were issued to the candidates according to the sequence of their online registration.

Congress’ spokesperson and Kaithal MLA Randeep Singh Surjewala has demanded an inquiry into the matter and a retest to address the concern of the complainants.
