Kurukshetra Express Private Limited has decided to provide free passage through its toll barrier near Dighal village on the Rohtak-Jhajjar road to those travelling to participate in the rallies of All-India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) chief Yashpal Malik and Kurukshetra MP Raj Kumar Saini in Rohtak and Jind, respectively, tomorrow.

“A separate lane will be dedicated to the vehicles headed for the rallies and only those carrying the banners of the rallies will be exempted from toll. The arrangement has been made to ensure hassle-free travel,” said Nitesh Malik, manager at Dighal Toll Plaza.

He added the decision was taken after a meeting with district police officials to maintain law and order tomorrow, as a considerable number of people are likely to pass through the toll barrier to attend the rallies.

“Our priority is to avoid any unpleasant situation at the toll barrier. Hence, vehicles heading for the rallies have been exempted from the toll for a day,” Nitesh said.

Meanwhile, Section 144 has been imposed in the district. The police have decided to set up nakas at 13 crucial points for vehicle checking tomorrow.

“Bypasses have been fixed for rally vehicles in the district. They will not be allowed to enter Jhajjar and Bahadurgah cities. A close watch will be kept on the roads leading to Rohtak and Jind. Videography of commuters will also be done on different routes,” said B. Sathish Balan, Jhajjar SP. An adequate number of police personnel armed with anti-riot equipment would be deployed at all nakas, he added.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Sonal Goyal has banned the sale of loose petrol, diesel and inflammable materials in the district. He has directed the owners of petrol stations not to sell loose petrol and diesel in bottles. She has exhorted all duty magistrates and police officials to establish coordination to deal with any situation.
