The Dyal Singh College Trust and Dyal Singh Library Trust, students and staff members of various schools here on Friday paid rich tributes to Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a great visionary and founder of The Tribune Trust, whose 120th death anniversary falls on September 9.

An inter-school “bhakti-geet” competition was organised at the Dyal Singh School main branch on the occasion.

Students of SD Model Senior Secondary secured the first position in the contest, while students of Dyal Singh Public School, Sector7, achieved the second position. Dyal Singh School, Panipat, and Guru Teg Bhadur Public School jointly got the third position.

Paying glowing tributes to the great visionary, Ramesh Lather, principal of the school, exhorted the students to follow in the footsteps of Sardar Majithia, who had contributed a lot to uplift society by donating all his property and other philanthropic causes.
