Rs 50,000, 31 iPads stolen from Panipat showroom

A gang of thieves targeted an electronic showroom, about 100 m from the City police station here, and decamped with cash and other valuables on Thursday night.
Mandeep Chawla, the showroom owner, said that he closed the showroom at 10.30 pm on Thursday and went home. Around midnight, he checked CCTV cameras installed in the showroom on his mobile phone, but was surprised to find that all were switched off.
On reaching the showroom, Chawla heard the sound of someone jumping. He immediately informed the police. He claimed that had the police reached in time, thieves would have been nabbed.
“The thieves decamped with 50,000, 13 laptops, five home theatres, 31 iPads, 10 mobile phones and LEDs. They also broke 28 LEDs in the showroom, Chawla said.
The police have registered a case against unidentified persons.
