Four unidentified men robbed gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 60 lakh and Rs 70,000 cash from a Delhi-based jewellery supplier in the parking under an elevated highway here today.

RK Bansal of New Delhi, along with his employee Rakesh Verma, reached Panipat at 2.30 pm today to supply gold and diamond jewellery to shops here.  They parked their car under the elevated highway near a light point and went to supply the jewellery which they carried in a bag, the police said. After selling jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh, they returned to the parking lot with the remaining jewellery. As Bansal got behind the wheel, two youths came and put a shawl on Rakesh.  He tried to resist, but the youths threatened them and fled away with the bag. — TNS
