New Delhi, July 7
Popular Haryanvi singer and dancer Sapna Choudhary today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of senior party leaders.
She was welcomed into the party by senior leaders, including Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari, former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal.
Her initiation took place at a membership drive at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium that is part of the BJP’s ongoing membership campaign across the country.
“There was no need to think twice. I was highly impressed by the BJP’s work. The BJP is a great party and I have taken its membership,” she was quoted as saying. Ahead of the General Election, there was speculation of Choudhary joining the Congress when her photos with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had gone viral.
The then Congress UP chief Raj Babbar had even welcomed her into the party fold. Choudhary later claimed that those were old images. In the General Election, she had campaigned for the BJP and Tewari.
