Six officers have been given additional charge in the district. Offices of the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Faridabad (MCF), and the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) are being managed by such officers.

The additional charge of the Commissioner, MCF, was given to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) recently. There are several other posts which are either lying vacant or are being managed by other officers for the past several months.

The additional charge of the post of ADC, which fell vacant last year after the transfer of Aditya Dahiya, was given to Jitender Dahiya, SDM, Faridabad, after a few days. Jitender is now holds the charge of both SDM and ADC. The work of the SDM office has nearly doubled with the recent decision of the state government to scrap the post of Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, and merge it with the SDM office, say sources.

The additional charge of the posts of Joint Commissioner, MCF, for Old Faridabad and NIT zones, has been given to the City Magistrate, Faridabad, and the Corporation Secretary, MCF.

The additional charge of the Land Acquisition Officer in HUDA office here has been given to the District Revenue Officer. It was earlier managed by the Estate Officer, HUDA, for sometime under similar arrangement.

The post of Additional Commissioner, MCF, which was created about six months ago, is now vacant as the first officer, Parth Gupta, was transferred only after a few weeks.

The implementation of the Smart City project seems under a cloud with no full time official to look after the work of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Earlier, the additional charge of the post was given to Sonal Goel, who was transferred as Deputy Commissioner, Jhajjar, on August 12.

Besides, the post of District Public Relations Officer (DPRO), who looks after publicity work of the government, has been vacant since March 28. The additional charge of the post has been given to the DPRO, Gurugram. Employees have to rush to Gurugram to get a file signed.

The post of the Joint Commissioner of Police has also been lying vacant for the past four months.
