Faridabad, July 2
Randeep Surjewala, national media in charge of the Congress, visited the family of Junaid Khan at Khandawali village in the district today. He met the bereaved family members and mourned Junaid’s death.
Surjewala claimed that a conspiracy of fomenting religious intolerance in society was responsible for such incidents.
The state authorities should provide all kind of help to Junaid’s family and focus on creating confidence among all communities by reining in communal forces hell bent on dividing people on caste and religion lines. “The incident has brought shame not only to Haryana but also to the country at the global level,” he said. The bereaved family would find solace and justice when all culprits were put behind bars, he added. Nalin Hooda, general secretary of Haryana Youth Congress, and Hem Dagar, district president of the farmers’ cell of the party, accompanied Surjewala.

They served an ultimatum to the government to release the accused by July 10 or they would launch an agitation.
