WWE fame wrestler The Great Khali alias Dalip Singh Rana would open a wrestling academy in Samanabahu village, around 23 km from the district headquarters.

He has purchased land of around 45 kanal in the village.  He was here on Tuesday at Karnal Tehsil premises to get his land registered.

Confirming the registry of land, Rajbakhsh Arora, Naib Tehsildar, said, “Since I have the additional charge of Nilokheri Tehsildar, The Great Khali came to my office to get the land registered on his mother’s name.”

He said he has procured this land for more than Rs 3 crore.

While talking with media persons, Khali praised the enthusiasm among youth for sports in Haryana and urged the youth to stay away from drugs to become a wrestler.

“There is lots of enthusiasm among youth of Haryana about sports. They have potential in sports. I will provide them a platform for wrestling,” said Khali.

As Khali reached the Tehsil premises, his fans surrounded him and congratulated him for procuring land in Karnal district for academy purpose.

“I have procured a piece of land on the name of my mother on which I will establish a wrestling academy of international standard. The players associated with cricket open cricket academies and I am associated with wrestling so I will open wrestling academy,” Khali said.

“I have been providing training to 200 youths in Jalandhar. I am organising live wrestling in Mandi in Himachal Pradesh on June 29 and also on July 7 in Solan, where players from across the world would participate,” he said.

Replying to a question, he refused to come in politics and said he will vote for any political party which would work for the development of the nation.
