Three-tier security at strongrooms

Chandigarh, October 22

The Haryana Police have made a three-tier security arrangement for the safety of EVMs and VVPAT machines at 90 strongrooms established at 59 locations across the state, which went to polls on Monday.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh Virk on Tuesday said the state police and paramilitary forces guarding were strongrooms round the clock.

“In the first layer, personnel of Central Armed Police Forces are deployed near the strongrooms; Haryana Armed Police personnel comprise the second layer, while district police personnel form the outer layer,” Virk said. — TNS
