Toll-free number for streetlight complaint

The Karnal Municipal Corporation (KMC) has chalked out a plan for maintenance of all streetlights. Nearly Rs 5 lakh per month would be spent on this project. The KMC has also started a toll-free number for residents to lodge their complaint regarding defunct streetlights.
Dr Aditya Dahiya, Commissioner, KMC, said that the entire area of the KMC had been divided into four zones and the contract for maintenance of the streetlights of three zones had been allotted to separate private agencies and the fourth zone would remain with the KMC.
“Any citizen can make compliant regarding streetlight on toll-free number 18001802700 from Monday to Saturday. After receiving the complaint, it will be resolved by the maintenance staff of the contractor within 24 hours,” he said. — TNS
