The Haryana Police have been working on a special plan for better management of traffic in the state.
This was stated by ADGP RC Mishra while taking feedback about the crime from police officials at the Police Lines in Kurukshetra today.
“Under this plan, all latest gadgets, including reflector buttons, helmets, jackets and other equipment to control the traffic, will be provided to the traffic police and Rs 15 lakh will be given to each district,” he said and added that the police were organising special workshops and camps to educate the youth and future drivers about the traffic rules. “It is the duty of the police to ensure the safety of the citizens,” he said.
To fill the gap between the police and public, seminars were being organised and the media was also playing a vital role in it, he said.
Mishra said except for special occasions, the police personnel had been discharging their duties for eight hours in a day. Besides, they were getting weekly offs also.
He said that the City police post and the Krishna Gate police post to be developed as police stations. Three more police stations to be set up in Kurukshetra and approval for two had been granted, he said.
