UHBVN team attacked in Kurukshetra village

Kurukshetra, September 28

Three policemen and an equal number of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) employees were injured when villagers attacked them at Mukumpura, near here, today. They were rushed to hospital at Pehowa.

Superintendent Engineer JK Kamboj said the UHBVN team was in the village to check suspected cases of power theft. “Our team was accompanied by the officials of the vigilance police. As they reached Mukimpura, a violent mob attacked them. Three UHBVN officials were injured and villagers damaged their official vehicles,” said Kamboj.

A spokesperson for the district police said a case has been registered and efforts were on to identify the attackers. — TNS
