The vision document-2022, prepared by the administration on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focuses on holistic development of the district.
The administration has fixed a target of making all villages ‘climate smart’ by introducing laser levelling, zero tillage, balance use of fertiliser, crop diversification, check on straw burning and 100 per cent seed replacement ratio. The focus is also on making the district free from vector-borne diseases—malaria, Japanese encephalitis, dengue and chikungunya; reducing the maternal mortality rate (MMR) below 50 and infant mortality rate (IMR) below 10; and 100 per cent immunisation and institutional deliveries.
Deputy Commissioner Aditya Dahiya says they have submitted the 12-page document to the state government on August 14 for the final approval. “We have fixed a target to reduce malnutrition by around 50 per cent and construct 50 anganwari centres a year. The Ayush Department has been asked to focus on the 0complete cure of chronic diseases, especially joints disorders,” he adds.
Dahiya says a target has also been set to make 100 per cent enrolment in schools, retention of students up to Class X in government schools and ensure an adequate number of teachers of all subjects in primary and secondary schools. Ensuring e-tendering in all contracts under the public distribution system (PDS), they have fixed a goal of online purchase of farm produce and making online payment to farmers, he adds.
