Fulfilling the announcement of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the Haryana Roadways on Friday started Volvo bus service from the newly inaugurated bus stand here. Amrinder Singh, OSD to CM, dedicated the bus service to the residents. The Chief Minister announced the facility of Volvo buses while inaugurating the new bus stand last month.
The OSD said that it was a long pending demand of the residents and the CM has fulfilled this demand in days after the announcement. He said that the commuters would avail the benefits of this bus service for both Chandigarh and Delhi.
Giving details, Ashwani Dogra, GM, Haryana Roadways Karnal depot, said that the Gurugram depot has transferred two Volvo buses to Karnal depot. They have received one bus and second would be received soon. The facility has been started from Friday.
The buses would ply on two routes between Karnal and Chandigarh; Karnal and Delhi. The Volvo bus for Chandigarh would leave the Karnal bus stand at 7 am, while the bus for Delhi would leave at 6.50 am.
