The Anonymous Theatre Group, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Virsa Vihar, staged two short plays ‘Awaaz ki Neelam’ depicting media is in the control of big organisations and ‘Marnoprant’, bleak emptiness in one’s life, at the auditorium of Virsa Vihar here today. Both the plays were written and directed by Happy Kalizpuria and enacted by Prince Brar and Happy Kalizpuria himself.
Awaaz ki Neelam
The play depicted the story of a middle-aged person who, due to his personal problems and for saving the life of his wife, was forced to sell his newspaper ‘Awaaz’. The play focused on the theme that the days in one’s life were never same, it could change at any moment.
There is another businessman in the story, who has been trying to take control of the newspaper since long. It highlighted the negative aspect of life,that how people at the time of your suffering, make use of your weaknesses. And how the media, is under the control of big organisations and do not let the disant voices to appear.
Marnoprant
‘Marnoprant’ is a trilangular story having similar touch of Haruki Murakami’s book entitled ‘Men without Women’. In the play, there are two men who love the same women. Amongst them,one is her husband and another one is her lover, with whom she had an extra- marital affair. Interestingly, both of them had no complaints to the women and are equally possessive about her.
