The High Court today deferred the hearing on an anticipatory bail application filed by the Assistant Drug Controller, Nishant Sareen, who is allegedly involved in a corruption case. The Vigilance bureau have registered an FIR against Sareen under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act on August 21.

After hearing the matter for some time, Justice Sandeep Sharma directed the investigating agency to produce record of the investigation before the court and listed the matter for further hearing on September 11.

During the course of hearing, the prosecution agency contended that custodial interrogation of Sareen was necessary in order to facilitate further investigation of the case.— OC
