A Jan Manch programme was organised in Chintpurni, which was presided over by Agriculture and Tribal Development Minister Ram Lal Markanda. Chintpurni MLA Balbir Chaudhary, DC Rakesh Prajapati and SP Devakar Sharma were also present.
At the programme, 400 applications pertaining to complaints and demands were put on record. Of these, 134 were redressed, while the remaining were referred to the departments. On the occasion, 53 revenue certificates, 22 land record mutations and 17 copies of family register were issued. The district Health and Ayurveda departments had set up a health checkup camp where about 230 patients benefited.
The minister distributed 120 LPG connections to beneficiaries under the Grihni Suvidha Scheme launched by the state government. Mothers of 15 new-born girls were given a fixed deposit certificate of Rs 10,000 each.
Markanda said 95 per cent complaints received in the state during the last three Jan Manch programmes had been redressed, adding that the programme was gaining popularity. Besides, it provided an opportunity to officers and ministers for direct interaction with the people.
The minister said a project, assisted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency, estimated at Rs 1,100 crore would be launched soon to boost off-season vegetable cultivation.
Bikram Singh in Mandi
Jan Manch, a programme launched by the state to sort out the problems of people, was organised on Sunday at Thaltukhor in Drang, which was presided over by Industry Minister Bikram Singh. As many as 181 complaints were received, of these 144 were resolved on the spot. Prakash Thakur of Dhamchayan village said earlier the villagers had to visit different offices to get certificates of income, caste, handicapped, horticulture card and other. It consumed a lot of time and money.

As many as 221 applications were received during the Jan Manch programme held at Skibba in Moorang Tehsil of Tribal Kinnaur district under the chairmanship of Speaker Rajeev Bindal. The important issue which came to fore during the programme included the demand of villagers of Lippa to relocate the people of ward 5 immediately.
