As many as 276 students were conferred with degrees during the seventh convocation of of IIT-Mandi today. Babasaheb Neelkanth Kalyani, chairman and managing director, Bharat Forge Limited, was the chief guest.
He said: “IIT-Mandi’s Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Catalyst has been successful in attracting entrepreneurs from various parts of the country.”
Prof Timothy A Gonsalves, director, IIT-Mandi, said, “At present, the faculty is working on 225 projects worth over Rs 110 crore. In 2018-2019, the institute received 45 projects.” Subodh Bhargava, chairman, Board of Governors, IIT-Mandi, said: “The number of girls joining BTech has risen to 20.23 per cent.”
Preeti M Kannapan, winner of this year’s Rani Gonsalves Memorial Medal, said: “IIT-Mandi gave us the freedom to pursue courses and projects of our choice.”
