Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri yesterday inaugurated the newly set up Government Degree College at Haroli.
The college will function temporarily from the old building of the Civil Hospital which has now been shifted to a new complex. About 150 students, mainly girls, today turned out to enroll themelves for undergraduate courses.
Agnihotri said Rs 5 crore had been released by the government as first instalment for the college building. He said this college was the third government degree college in Haroli.
The minister said the sale of industrial plots at Pandoga Industrial Area in Haroli would be launched on August 1. The new industrial area is coming up at a cost of Rs 150 crore and work on levelling and plotting is underway, he said.
Agnihotri said the state’s first skill development centre at Palkwah village, the Secretariat building at Haroli and an ITI at Pubowal would be inaugurated by CM Virbhadra Singh during his next visit. He said classes at the new ITI at Pandoga village will begin on August 1, adding that all seats had been filled.— OC
