Kangra, June 18

An anti-ragging orientation programme-cum-pledge ceremony was organised at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital (DRPGMC), Tanda, on Monday.

Dr Bhanu Awasthi, Principal, DRPGMC, Tanda, said there was an urgent need to banish the menace of ragging from educational institutions. He also stressed on the need to make the college a ragging-free campus.

Faculty members from the college spoke on various aspects of ragging, anti-ragging regulations and measures to prevent it.

Over 600 people, including medical faculty, nursing faculty, medical students, nursing students, paramedical students, paramedical staff, security staff, and contract employees attended the programme.

A pledge was taken to make Tanda medical college a ragging-free campus.

Besides anti-ragging committee members, additional director of the medical college, SDPO Kangra and pradan of Sadarpur were among those present on the occasion.
