Solan, November 22

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today broke silence on the CBI raids saying the NDA was targeting him as he was the longest-serving CM.

He said state BJP leaders in connivance with the NDA were trying to oust him and the BJP government at the Centre was misusing the central investigating agencies.

At the Renuka Fair, the CM said he was becoming an eyesore for the BJP as his government was inquiring into various cases of corruption pertaining to the previous BJP regime on the basis of a chargesheet prepared by the state Congress Committee.

He said he was barely fulfilling the commitments made in the election manifesto prepared by his partymen, adding that apprehending legal action against the Dhumals, the BJP had launched a stir to oust him.

He dared the BJP to get his assets probed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or Scotland Yard Police saying he was strong enough to face all investigations and challenges. He alleged that a Central minister was misusing the investigating agencies.

Lashing out at the Opposition, he said the BJP had made a false promise to deposit Rs 15 lakh in the bank account of every individual after bringing back black money. He said the prices of pulses had gone through the roof and farmers were not getting their due.

The CM announced a slew of development projects, including a degree college at Kafota in Shillai, an industrial training institute at Maina in Renuka, a 10-bed ayurvedic hospital at Paonta Sahib, and ayurvedic dispensaries at Khala Kyar, Lagnoo Sangrah and Deed Bagar.

He also announced a link road from Khodonwala to upper Bhangani and Salwala to Kandela in Paonta, besides channelisation of the right bank of the Yamuna river and its tributaries adjoining Paonta town.

He also laid the foundation stone of a bridge over Sunkar Khud at Dhaulakuan to be constructed with an outlay of Rs 2.50 crore.
