Baglamukhi temple to be beautified

In order to promote pilgrim tourism, the Government of India will provide funds for the beautification and restoration of old structures of famous Baglamukhi temple at Bankhandi in Dehra sub division of the district. As per the plan, better facilities will be provided to the visiting pilgrims.
Hoshiyar Singh, MLA Dehra, visited the shrine along with a team of officers of the Tourism Department and Sub Divisional Magistrate and Divisional Forest Officer, Dehra, for chalking out a strategy for the development of the temple.
He said the Government of India has earmarked Rs 3.50 crore for the famous historic Baglamukhi temple, which attracts lakhs of pilgrims every year. Among the devotees are a large number of dignitaries and politicians. Under the programme besides developing a parking lot, old structures of the temple will be restored and the surroundings of the temple beautified.
Architects of the Tourism Department, who also attended the meeting, have been assigned the job to make a viable architectural plan for this temple which will be submitted to the Centre within one month.
He said that under the pilgrim tourism programme, the Centre has also decided to beautify and restore the famous Kaliashwar Mahadev temple on the bank of river Beas on which Rs 4 crore are likely to be spent.
