Bali: Food Corp shopping mall in Shimla soon

The Food and Civil Supplies Corporation will open up its own shopping mall at Bhatakufr in Shimla. A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of board of directors of the corporation, held in Dharamsala under the chairmanship of Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Transport and Technical Education GS Bali.
Bali said the proposed shopping mall, besides making available products of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, would also sell all other kinds of consumer products. The corporation would bring up three shopping malls in the state, but the first one had been planned in Shimla, he said.
In a press statement issued here today, the minister said the Food and Civil Supplies Corporation, in the meeting held last evening, had also decided to open three ‘aam aadmi shops’ at Shimla, Kangra and Mandi. These shops would sell tyres, kerosene, wheat flour, steel and other items at prices lower than market prices.
Income of the Food and Civil Supplies Corporation has increased by Rs 9.41 crore in the current financial year, he added.
Bali also chaired a meeting of the board of directors of the Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) and Technical Education Board in Dharamsala last evening.
