Chamba NGO honours artists

Chamba, July 16
Shilp Parishad, a Chamba-based NGO, has honoured Dinesh Kumari for her work on Chamba Rumal and singer Piyush Raj with ‘Kalanidhi awards’.
The award ceremony was held at the auditorium of Bhuri Singh museum on Sunday. The “Kalanidhi awards” consist of a cash prize of Rs 5,100 and citation. Parishad president Padma Shri Dr Vijay Sharma said the parishad honoured artists for their contributions.
Kiran Mehta, a connoisseur of music, was the chief guest of the function. Anil Bhardwaj and Nishad accompanied singer Piyush Raj as he doled out folk songs and ghazals. The audience was enthralled by the perfomance.
Manuj Sharma, secretary of the parishad, expressed gratitude to the music lovers of the area.
