Chintpurni gets record offerings of Rs 1.48 crore

During the Shravan Ashtami Mela at Chintpurni temple in Una district, a sum of Rs 1,48,38,977 was offered to the deity by the devotees, which is the highest ever so far. The mela was held from August 12 to 19.
According to details provided by the temple Trust, 121 grams of gold, 14.611 kilogram of silver and foreign currency of various denominations was also offered.
Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati said with the help of a lift, 2,373 old, weak and disabled persons were able to get ‘darshans’ of the deity. He said despite heavy rain during the fair, the devotees thronged the temple to seek blessings. He commended the services provided by the police, health, PWD, IPH, Civil Supplies and Electricity Board officials besides the temple Trust. He said proper services were provided to over five lakh devotees who attended the fair. Every year, the mela is celebrated with fervour.
