Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was using indecent language, which did not behove him.
Addressing election meetings in Badsar, Hamirpur and Sujanpur, he said the elections were a democratic process and leaders should refrain from passing such remarks.
He said he understood the Prime Minister’s frustration, which he was unable to contain. He said: “Neither we use indecent language nor we tolerate it.”
Virbhadra said Modi had sensed the party’s defeat not only in Himachal, but also in Gujarat.
The people and traders are against the BJP in Gujarat. Demonetisation had gone against it and what was left had been swept away by the GST, the Chief Minister said.
The Modi government had failed to control the price hike in the country.
“The Prime Minister had stated that he had sanctioned thousands of rupees for the state during the stone laying of AIIMS in Bilaspur. I told him that the funds given to the state were not given by him, but by the Government of India as it was the due share of the state. Medical College in Hamirpur can be started any time if the Central government gives the environmental clearance,” Virbhadra said.
Attacking former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, he said the former tried to divide the state by playing the regional and caste politics whereas the Congress had always worked for the all-round development of the state.
He said the party would form the government and Hamirpur should get its share. He urged voters to support Congress candidates, Inderdutt Lakhanpal in Barsar, Kuldeep Pathania in Hamirpur and Rajinder Rana in Sujanpur.
