Education has always been the top priority of the government and rapid expansion, along with strengthening of educational institutes, created opportunities in rural areas, said Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh after performing bhumi pujan of the Bagi-Khabal road to be constructed with Rs 4.61 crore.

He said the increase in educational infrastructure helped raising the rate of education. Girls in the remote areas were now going to colleges and exhibiting performance.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh laid foundation stones of educational institutes worth Rs 11 crore at Jangla and also inaugurated a water supply scheme and road project worth Rs 7 crore in Rohru.

At Pujarli Summer Kot, he released a book on Devta Maheshwar by 83-year-old writer KC Kaith, who has penned 22 books, including eight novels and three poetry collections.
