Three days cultural festival began at Jispa village in Lahaul-Spiti on Thursday. The festival is being organised by the Lahaul-Spiti Eco Tourism Society, which has been struggling to promote eco tourism.
On the first day of the event, a two-hour workshop was held on agriculture and horticulture sector to make people aware of the latest technology of farming to enhance quality production of agriculture and horticulture produce.
Apart from this, a group dance was performed by artistes of the Himalayan region to enthrall the audience. Jispa is a tourist place, where business of camping site for tourist activity is gaining momentum for the past few years.
A large number of tourists stay at camping sites in Jispa and from there they either go to Leh or come back to Manali from Leh side.
Rigzin Semphel Heyreppa, president of the Lahaul-Spiti Eco Tourism Society, said the event would be continuing till August 3.
During the event, the tourists will get opportunity to seek a glimpse of Lahaul-Spiti’s cultural, tradition and dance. The artistes of Leh-Ladakh will display their talent and entertain the audience.
