Deeprekha, a doctor by profession, has been living in Bangalore for the past five years along with her husband who is also a doctor.

‘I was enrolled in the competition by a friend,” she said. When she enrolled me I was not sure if could go that far, said the 39-year-old doctor.

She says, “ I was a regular at the local gym where I used to spend working out for at least 30-45 minutes five days a week. However, when I started training for the competition, the schedule became very tight. My eating became healthy with no intake of junk food or sugar,” she said.

“I don’t care about the result, but I want to give my best in the final. If given a chance, I would want to become an inspiration for the women of the state who generally give up their aspirations for the sake of their family and other reasons, said Deeprekha.Deeprekha urged the people of the Himachal to support her by liking her facebook page.Rashmi, a friend of Deeprekha, said, “She could not believe that Deeprekha who was so shy during her college days could muster up courage to compete in a beauty pageant. However, I am very happy for her and wish she bring laurels to her state and Una district.”
