Doctor drowns in Pong lake

NURPUR, JUNE 5

Doctor Amit Bhalla, posted in the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Fatehpur, reportedly drowned in the regional water sports centre of the Pong Dam lake today. The deceased knew swimming and reached the centre for taking a bath this morning.

Trainers were present at the centre when he started drowning in the water. They rushed to the spot to rescue him but he was declared brought-dead by the CHC, Fatehpur. The body of the deceased has brought to the Civil Hospital mortuary at Nurpur for post-mortem examination. The Fatehpur police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and conducted preliminary investigations of the spot.
