Kangra, March 23
The Kangra Municipal Council has decided to provide dustbins of three different colours free of cost to residents for scientific collection of the garbage from each house from April 1.
Disclosing this here today, Kanchan Bala, Executive Officer, Kangra MC, said the dustbins would be provided for collection of the dry and wet garbage, besides napkins and sanitary bags used by women, so that the garbage was disposed of scientifically.
The Executive Officer said for dry garbage, blue dustbin would be used, for wet, green and for napkins and sanitary bags, red dustbin would be used. She said these dustbins would be distributed among 3,000 families and the collection process would start from April 1.
She said the dust bins would be installed in the educational and technical institutions besides offices and banks.
Kanchan Bala said MC workers would collect the garbage separately from different dustbins to keep the environment safe and clean.
Meanwhile, a daylong workshop on ‘waste management scientific disposal’ was held in the MC complex and experts from Kullu had come to deliver the goods.
