Ex-Bilaspur MLA’s son held with charas

The seventeen-year-old son of former Congress MLA from Bilaspur Bambar Thakur and three others were arrested here on Wednesday with 498 gram of charas.
The accused were on their way to Bilaspur from Kullu when their car, on specific input, was intercepted by a police party near Bheuli. During checking, police personnel recovered two packets of charas from the car. They have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
SP, Mandi, Gurdev Chand said the vehicle in which the accused were travelling was owned by the former legislator.
The accused include two minors. The other two have been identified as Abhishek of Bilaspur district and Aman of Shimla district.
The SP said the minors would be produced in the juvenile justice court while they would seek remand for the other two accused.
He added they were yet to ascertain the source from whom they procured the contraband.
