Dharamsala, May 13
The department of security of the Tibetan government-in-exile has issued a warning to those circulating fake content on social media regarding the statements of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.
It was on the completion of the second year in office that members of the 15th Tibetan cabinet, led by Lobsang Sangay, had an audience with Dalai Lama on May 4, 2018. During his visit, the spiritual laureate had issued an advisory to them, the fake copy of which was being circulated on social media.
“The fake version of the advisory with an image of the audience is being circulated on social media with an intent to disrupt the peace. In light of this, the department of security urges the public to be wary of such false rumours,” said the statement of the Tibetan government issued here on Saturday.
It was said the original content of the advisory was published on the official portal of the Tibetan administration. However, nothing was disclosed about the fake content that was taking the rounds.
In the original message of the Dalai Lama to the political leadership of Tibet, the Tibetan leader had stated that Tibet was going through one of the most difficult phases in its history.
“During this tragic phase of Tibet’s history, you all should shoulder responsibilities. Don’t be discouraged, but keep moving forward. Your contribution and service will be rewarded not just in this life, but also in the next life,” said the Dalai Lama to the Tibetan cabinet. Further, he had also mentioned that he had spent a good time towards the revival of the Nalanda tradition in India and promoted secular ethics in education around the world.
