Founder Director of SFSL passes away
Shimla, July 23
The founder Director of State Forensic Science Laboratory, Himachal Pradesh, Dr BR Sharma, passed away in Panchkula on Saturday. His sudden demise is a big loss to the forensic fraternity.
Born in Hamirpur, Dr Sharma was awarded PhD degree in Chemistry from Punjab University (Delhi campus.) Dr Sharma contributed to the field of forensic science for six decades during which he examined more than 10,000 crime cases. He retired as the Director of the CFSL in1988. Thereafter, he was invited to establish Himachal FSL. He was awarded the Gaurav of Himachal Pradesh award in 2007. He is survived by two sons and a daughter. — TNS
