Free radiology services at 118 centres

Shimla: Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar on Friday said radiological services would be provided at 118 health institutions free of cost. Currently, the services were available at 80 health institutes. Addressing a gathering during the opening of an X-ray teleradiology meet here, Parmar said these services would be made available by Krsnaa Diagnostics Private Limited, Pune, with whom the government had signed an agreement last year. Man dies of suspected poisoning 

Kangra A 36-year-old man died of suspected poisoning at the Tanda medical college, the police said on Friday. The victim was identified as Baljeet of  Khajjar village falling under the Jawali police station. According to the police, Baljeet had consumed some poisonous substance and was admitted to the hospital on June 26. The body had been sent for a post-mortem examination. OC

Tourist killed in Manali road mishap

Mandi: A woman tourist from West Bengal was killed while her husband was injured when their motorcycle collided head-on with a tipper near Palchan on the Manali-Leh highway on Friday. The deceased was identified as Anita Vasak (30). The deceased's husband, Mithun Chakravati, was taken to a Manali hospital and his condition is stated to be stable. A case has been registered. TNS
