HP to be under UDAN-2 soon, says CM

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said to give more impetus to tourism and facilitate people, the state would be included in the second phase of Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) Scheme as assured by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He was at Jogindernagar to address a public meeting. He said, “The government is trying to provide air link to the far-flung areas of the hill state and I am grateful to the Prime Minister for including Himachal Pradesh under the UDAN Scheme in the first phase and also ensuring to include the state under the scheme in the second phase as well.”
“Under the second phase, more facilities will be provided to the people from neighbouring states as well. The roads will be certainly incorporated in the coming Budget and adequate budgetary provisions will be made to repair these,” he added.
He said under the PMGSY, a provision of Rs 24.58 crore had been made for five roads and the tender process had begun. He announced Rs 10 crore for five roads like Gumma to Kharsa, Shanan-Arthi, Petu Nallah-Gaduhi road, Balakrupi to Darat Bangla and Chauntra -Tikri Mushera road.
He said the tender work for remaining work on two major roads amounting to Rs 11.18 crore was under process. He announced to construct a foot bridge to be constructed between Multhan and Barot which was washed away a few years ago.
Earlier, the Chief Minister administered polio drops to children. He said 6,44,036 children below five years would be administered polio drops.
In Mandi district, 1,103 booths had been set up to administer polio drops to 81,112 children, said Chief Medical Officer.
Chief Minister was accompanied by Mandi MP Ramswaroop Sharma, Jogindernagar MLA, Prakash Rana and former minister Gulab Singh Thakur and other dignitaries on the dais.
